You could be hypothyroid if you…

  • Sleep a lot
  • Crave Carbohydrates and fats
  • Feel better after exercise
  • Cant tolerate the cold
  • Fatigue
  • Decreased libido (sex drive)
  • Heavy menses
  • Feel depressed
  • Mental slowness
  • Confusion
  • Lethargy
  • apathy
  • High Cholesterol and blood Lipids(not a statin shortage lol)
  • Ridged nail
  • Tingling in hands
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Deep, Monotoned Voice
  • Dull, expressionless look
  • Goiter (Swollen Neck in the front)
  • Constipation
  • Thinning and brittle hair

You don’t have to have all these symptoms. If you have even as low as 5 you probably have a thyroid problem. On a technical note your blood work could be in the “normal” range but not the optimal range. Certain Nutritional deficiencies may be present and an alternative holistic approach may help. I have had many patients come in with blood work in which all this insufficient data makes me wonder how they can come to a conclusion. Should have as a minimum; TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Anti-TPO.
